More than a month before the broadcast, The Witcher continues to make the audience standstill with a new trailer longer than 2 minutes, revealing dramatic images in the film. In particular, scenes of the lead actor Henry Cavill caught attention and were highly appreciated by the media.
In the work, the actor born in 1983 takes the lead role of Geralt of Rivia, a medieval silver-haired witch who wanders the continent hunting monsters for money. Geralt of Rivia is also described as possessing supernatural powers from a young age and using them against raging monsters.
The newly released trailer for The Witcher shows the tough journey of Geralt of Rivia through intense battle scenes. Notably, Henry Cavill’s acting was praised by the audience. Many people think that he seems to have completely escaped the shadow of the superhero character that he has shown before. Besides, the actor also left an impression thanks to his bare moments, showing his toned muscles.
Not long ago, Henry Cavill revealed that he wanted to play the character Geralt of Rivia because he loved The Witcher. Therefore, he himself campaigned to be able to be cast in this role. According to film producer Lauren Schmidt, the movie star of Impossible Mission: Crash has surpassed more than 200 other candidates to be selected to play this heavy role.
After taking the role, Henry Cavill carefully prepared and often discussed training for the action scenes in The Witcher. Even to get used to the sword that the character Geralt of Rivia used in the film, he prepared three identical swords, which he carried around and used every day on set.
The Witcher is an 8-episode film, based on a fantasy book of the same name by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski. In addition to Henry Cavill, the work also brings together Freya Allan, Joey Batey, Tom Canton, Anya Chalotra, Eamon Farren. The film will be released on Netflix on December 20, 2019.
